Eldest=bestest

Being the eldest in my family has pros and cons.
For example, being the oldest means you can't get hand-me-downs but it also means that your mom often chooses your style that tends to be a reason for hiding elementary school pictures.

I've learned about personality trait trends that depend on where you fall in the order of your siblings.
90% of the time it works everytime
(if you don't know where that is from please go edusporcate yourself----aka sports-education)

Ok so here it is.
From the info gods themselves: C-to-the-BS (CBS)

Kinda fun to see where you fall:

First-born:
Newscasters and TV talk show hosts tend to be first born or only children. Prominent examples include: Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, Dan Rather, Ted Koppel, Oprah, Donahue, Geraldo, Arsenio Hall and Rush Limbaugh. Over half of U.S presidents were firstborns. Clearly, firstborns are natural leaders. They also tend to be reliable, conscientious and perfectionists who don't like surprises. Although, firstborns are typically aggressive, many are also compliant people pleasers. They are model children who have a strong need for approval from anyone in charge.

Middle-child:
These kids are the most difficult to pin down. They are guaranteed to be opposite of their older sibling, but that difference can manifest in a variety of ways. Middle children often feel like their older brother gets all the glory while their younger sister escapes all discipline. Because the middle child feels that the world pays him less attention, he tends to be secretive; he does not openly share his thoughts or feelings.

Middle children may not feel they have a special place in the family so friends and peer groups become much more important. They can usually read people well, they are peacemakers who see all sides of a situation, they are independent and inventive. If a firstborn is a company's CEO, the middle child is the entrepreneur.

Youngest:
Babies of the family are social and outgoing, they are the most financially irresponsible of all birth orders. They just want to have a good time. Knowing that these kids love the limelight, it's no surprise to discover that Billy Crystal, Goldie Hawn, Drew Carey, Jim Carey and Steve Martin are all lastborns.

While lastborns may be charming, they also have the potential to be manipulative, spoiled or babied to the point of helplessness.

"The last born is the one who will probably still have a pet name although he's 29 and has a masters degree," Leman says.

Pretty fun right?

When I was reading these I could pick out some of my siblings and say "That's totally them!"
But I do need to set the record straight...
I DO like suprises, in fact, I love them!

Speaking of suprises.
Guess where I'm going next week?

NEW YORK CITY!!!

I could not be more excited!

Moment of Honesty:
Prior to a couple weeks ago, visiting New York was not on my bucket list. For 2 reasons.
1) I would get mugged, raped, killed, all with five minutes of stepping into the city
2) the yankees suck

And although the yankees still suck, I am so excited to take on the biggest giant of the USA..New Yorkers.
Stay tuned for pics, stories, etc. about this epic trip.

An Update

Wow it's been a while since I've updated this blog o' mine!
School is now over...passed. boom.
I have run 2-5k's
Thanksgiving Point 5k

"Now I Can" Foundation 5k
We (me, Lindie, and Camille along with Camille's family) ran for this little boy, Jase.
He is 3 years old and has to have therapy sessions to help him walk.
Cutest little boy :)

I signed up for a half marathon in July...super nervous!!
But I'm feeling good about my training.

So I've been down a little bit lately.
I have been blessed to be surrounded by friends and good people my whole life.
I have been able to meet so many different people, from different walks of life, and they have all taught me something. I love that, in fact, I crave it.
I want to know everyone's stories, where they came from, what they believe, etc.
It's fascinating to me.
ANYWAYS
Although I have so many great people in my life, lately all of them have been busy and that's just the ones that are around this area. Most of my friends are married. No Joke.
I literally have 1 last friend from high school that is still single out of the 5 of us.
But don't get me wrong, this is not a pity party for Marlisa.

I GET busy, this is the girl that has worked 2 jobs and coached 2 sports while going to school all at one time. I understand.
But I really just don't have that person that I can do everything with...and that brings me to my next update.

This boy gets home in 11 weeks and 3 days...I could not be more stoked!!!!

My best friend.
I am so blessed to have him and so excited that he is finally coming home!

On that note, life really is good.
I have a lot going this summer to get me through the home stretch.
Lots of bucket list items are going to be crossed off this summer :)

Stay thirsty. Thanks for reading.
